The month of May brings the observance of Cinco de Mayo. This national Mexican holiday signifies the 1862 victory of the historical battle between Mexico and France. A carnival, a parade and the crowning of a queen mark Cinco de Mayo fiesta in Omaha, as well as Kansas City. The Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland plays hosts several Cinco de Mayo festival happenings.
The Mission neighborhood in San Francisco goes all out in a joyous Cinco de Mayo celebration with free all-day entertainment. The Hudson Terrace Roof deck in New York City will host a Cinco de Mayo theme filled with food, music, and drinks, while Miami tenders their own fabulous party in Mary Brickell Village.
