Fête Paradiso’s American debut is all summer long from July 13 – September 29 on Governors Island. The public is invited to join in and can visit each weekend.
Among the attractions, is a bicycle carousel from the late 19th century which is one of only two in the world that were created in Paris, France. It’s counterpart was seen in the Woody Allen film, “Midnight in Paris.” There will be plenty of old-style carnival games and besides the array of historic amusements, a music kiosk that will have live performers entertaining with period classics.
A bumper car pavilion from the early 1900’s has been transformed into an eatery with the fare provided by Manhattan’s award winning French restaurant, Le Gamin. The chefs have redesigned their menus to match those that were served at carnivals In France at the turn of the century. Visitors of all ages will enjoy this once-in-a-life-time event. Keep the name handy as the festival has yet to announce where it will be heading to next summer.
