There was no denying that Kinky Boots would take Best Musical, which it did or Billy Porter as its lead and winner of Best Performer in a Musical. Pippin shone as Best revival with its lead, normally portrayed by a male (Ben Vereen was the originator) Patina Miller taking top honors.
