The cruise season is year round but anticipation of new ships on the horizon and retrofits to older ones always peaks the traveler’s interest. As in the past, almost all cruise lines are getting ready for some innovative changes in 2013.

NCL will be debuting their newest member to their fleet and already is making major waves in the media. Carnival Cruise Lines is undergoing a $155-million revamp to their ship, Carnival Sunshine. Families will be thrilled with the Guy Fieri Burger Joint run by TV’s ‘ In the Family’ Guy Fieri.

Young ladies of a certain age will find that the Barbie Premium Experience is tailored to their Barbie fashion sense on selected RCCL ships and sailings. Girls ages 4-11 (with their parents) get to stay in Barbie-themed staterooms and even have fashion design workshops available as an activity.
Joining the fleet in June, the Royal Princess is slated to be brighter and bolder with plenty of sparkle. The poolside area promises a water & light show and an enhanced high definition ‘Movies Under the Stars’ screen, The first of its kind will be SeaWalk, a glass bottom walkway with views 128 feet straight down to the ocean.
